Political Sex Scandals in India

Sex scandals are not new to Indian politics. Let's see how a few veteran political leaders have suffered / gained from various sex scandals...

Amarmani Tripathi

Amarmani Tripathi (C), a politician and erstwhile cabinet minister in Uttar Pradesh, was arrested in September 2003 in connection with the murder of poetess Madhumita Shukla, with whom he allegedly had an affair, and who was brutally murdered. After investigations revealed that she was carrying a foetus that matched the DNA of Tripathi, the Supreme Court rejected his bail plea, and he is currently in jail.
N D Tiwari

Veteran Congress politician Narayan Dutt Tiwari, who resigned recently as the Andhra Pradesh governor after a sex tape purportedly showed him with three women, is a new entry in a list of such sleaze that has littered the political landscape.
Omar Abdullah

The Kashmir Valley was rocked in May 2006 after police unearthed a scam allegedly involving high profile politicians and bureaucrats. The case drags on in a court. The bitter memories of the scam returned this summer afresh after allegations that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah figured in the list of the accused, forcing him to resign. However, he withdrew his resignation after the Central Bureau of Investigation said his name had not cropped up.
Jaya Prada

Sleaze raised its ugly head during the April-May Lok Sabha elections, when film star-turned-politician Jaya Prada alleged that rival leader Azam Khan was distributing nude pictures of her, to ensure her defeat in the polls. She alleged Khan 'distributed, doctored and morphed' pictures and posters of her that appeared as though she had posed in the nude.
P K Kunjalikutty

In October 1997, one of the prominent leaders in Kerala, P K Kunjalikutty was accused of being a kingpin of what came to be notoriously known as the 'ice-cream parlour scandal'. An ice-cream parlour in Kozhikode was allegedly used as a front for a sex trade and lured girls into it. The sexual exploitation of minors also came up. Kunjalikutty was the state's former minister from the Muslim League. Some comrades of the Communist Party of India-Marxist were also named.

Example: Improve Search Engine Rankings with Jasmine directory

One would wonder, why do I need to submit my site to a web directory? Well, think of it this way: Remember the time when you used a telephone directory. Why do you need to refer to it? Simple. Because you would like to find out telephone number of a particular person / business. You can also find it out by contacting your friends, or manually finding it out on your own. Now relate it to web scenario. There are millions of sites/blogs under each category and not all of us are good enough. So if you are looking for, say Humor blogs, then you can search for these on any standard Search Engine. But this will take lot of hours... In order to save time and to get the required results quickly, you would refer to a web directory's Humor category and you'll find tens of good sites. So your search narrowed down from millions to just tens! Additionally, search engine ranking of your site will improve if that engine finds that your site is listed under a reputed web directory. So you will have double benefit just by taking a few simple steps: finding out good web directory (for example, Business, Yahoo, DMOZ, Jasmine, etc.) and registering your site under a relevant category.

I was looking out for tips on good yet affordable tips on home decoration & I came across many sites that claimed they had awesome content. It was a different issue that hardly a few of them really made any sense. A little time spent on Googling for more relevant sites and I came across the Properties, Homes & More site which instantly caught my attention. You know, I had to spend a few hours before reaching this site (though it came in first 100 Google results). What I liked about this site is that it is neatly laid out, smart yet sober color combination, good and flowing language of the content, not too verbose yet not too picture-full. I found that the content has been originally written along with mention of the sources wherever applicable. It includes information not only on general properties / homes, but also tips on interior decoration (or home decor), home renovation, and safety. The ads were not intruding in the content, making reading a good experience. Though the site has not been refreshed lately (over last 1 month or so), I still feel that this is not a problem. One should post only when there is something really relevant to be posted. I would call it "jack of all". :) It has good potential to become widely referenced site under Properties / Real Estate category.
